The Beginnings

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe first started in 2013 as a modest communal fundraiser, initiated by a group of dedicated volunteers who saw the huge potential in creating a winter festival in the heart of Queensland.

In its initial stages the festival attracted a crowd of 3000 visitors and relied on artificial snow and ice sculptures. While the endeavours were a hit, a rare, natural snowfall in 2015 brought with it the dream of creating a genuine winter atmosphere with real snow in this subtropical part of Australia. This is when Bucceri Snow Making entered the picture.

Let It Snow

On a quest to bring real snow to Stanthorpe’s winter festival in 2016, the organizers relied on Bucceri Snow Making, as a renown plus temperature snow making company, to transform their dream of a snow filled winter wonderland into reality. With our expertise and state of the art snow making equipment, Bucceri Snow Making made the impossible possible by bringing authentic snowfall to Stanthorpe. In that year a record 10 000 visitors ascended upon the rural town to experience the magic of real snow. Not bad for a small community of only 5000 people.

The addition of real snow took Snowflakes in Stanthorpe from a humble community event to an Australian Winter Extravaganza. With a real snowfield, snowball throwing, snowman making, daily snowfalls and tobogganing due to Bucceri Snow Making, the event not only grew unique and successful, but it also even earned the small town a nomination for Australian community event of the year. 2023 turned out to be huge for the town of Stanthorpe. A record breaking        18 000 people attended the 5th Snowflakes in Stanthorpe event to experience the best winter has to offer. The enormous growth in visitors aided every part of the community and allowed the event organizers to donate a whopping 50 000 A$ back to different community groups in town. And this is only the start.
